Vampire Facial

Dr. Burke Explains the Vampire Facial

Dr. Burke himself takes you through the step by step process about how he administers the Vampire Facial to patients like you.

The Vampire Facial is a procedure first developed and trademarked by Dr. Charles Runels MD of Fairhope, Alabama. Dr. Burke is currently one out of only 2 doctors in the entire state of Maine who is approved and trained to perfom the Vampire Facial as well as other Vampire Procedures.

The Vampire Facial is the least invasive of the Vampire Procedures. For those who already have good volume and a natural and beautiful shape to their face, and therefore don't need the Vampire Facelift, the Vampire Facial works well to improve skin color and texture.

The Vampire Facial combines the use of micro needling with the power of platelet-rich plasma, or PRP. At Maine Laser Skin Care, Dr. Burke uses the Eclipse MicroPen, which is an FDA-approved micro needling device, simultaneously.

The pen has several very small needles that vibrate in and out of the skin very rapidly, creating thousands of small portals in the skin. Using the MicroPen along with topical products can result in excellent stimulation of skin healing and collagen production.

The addition of PRP essentially supercharges the healing and collagen production process. After the MicroPen has done its initial work, Dr. Burke applies the PRP, which has been drawn from your own blood and centrifuged prior to the procedure.

When applied in this manner, the combination of micro needling and PRP stimulates new collagen and new blood flow to the area, resulting in a smoother and healthier-appearing texture and color. Patients who have had this treatment describe their skin as feeling like it glows.

We are in the process of developing individual webpages for each of these procedures, but in the meantime, you can visit the Vampire Facial's official website at www.vampirefacial.com to view more information and videos about this procedure.
