Lentigo (Plural: Lentigines) "Age Spots", "Liver Spots"

Maine Laser Skin Care and MediSpa is pleased to offer skin treatment using laser wave lengths that are adjusted to the treatment and skin type of the individual patient to eliminate and reduce pigmentation variances. Actinic (solar) lentigines arise in middle age and are numerous in sun-exposed skin. A brown, sharply circumscribed spot caused by an increased number of melanocytes.

How does it work?

Laser light is absorbed by pigmented areas where it is converted to heat, causing a breakup in the pigment. One of our dedicated and trained staff members here at Maine Laser Skin Care will analyze your skin condition and discuss with you the treatment that will be most effective for you.

What can you expect immediately post-treatment?

Immediately following the procedure, you may experience some redness, swelling and/or a slight darkening of treated area(s). The redness and swelling usually dissipate within one to three days. Makeup can be applied to the treated area immediately, if necessary. It is extremely important to apply a moisturizer with SPF-30 sunblock and avoid sun exposure on a daily basis.

In some cases, more than one treatment may be necessary.

How long does a typical treatment take?

This treatment takes approximately 15 minutes per area.
