CoolSculpting® uses targeted cooling to internally freeze the targeted area and treat the underlying fatty tissue. Using CoolSculpting®, the treated fat cells are crystalized (frozen), and then die. The fat cells that are treated with CoolSculpting® are thought to be completely destroyed (permanent). The reduction in fat should be long-lasting if a healthy diet and lifestyle is maintained without significant weight gain.
CoolSculpting® is a safe and effective body shaping treatment that can smooth, firm and shape those troublesome problem areas to give you the body you desire.
The best part? CoolSculpting® is completely non-surgical and non-invasive.
The right curves and contours can turn heads and raise eyebrows. Unfortunately, many of us also have cellulite - those extra dimples when we wear our short shorts, for instance. The appearance of cellulite can be uneven and unsightly. By temporarily reducing the appearance of cellulite, the fat cells that are treated with CoolSculpting® are thought to be completely destroyed (permanent). The reduction in fat should be long-lasting if a healthy diet and lifestyle is maintained without significant weight gain.
Each CoolSculpting® treatment gets you closer to the smooth body you want.
Our dedicated staff here at Maine Laser Skin Care will prescribe treatments based on your body type and effect you're hoping to achieve.
Physicians in other parts of the world report that many of their patients have noticed significant improvement three weeks after the first session. Following the procedure, patients can resume normal activity without pain or downtime.
A non-invasive, non-surgical technique that uses precisely controlled cooling to a targeted area and treats the underlying fatty tissue. The cooling is administered externally through the skin.
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive cooling therapy treatment that smoothes, firms and shapes the body. CoolSculpting temporarily reduces the appearance of cellulite, and increases local blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. The treatment uses a safe apparatus to cool the targeted problem area and treat the underlying fatty tissue. Unlike other non-invasive body shaping procedures, CoolSculpting is a comfortable massage-like treatment that only requires three to five sessions for noticeable results.
Non-invasive means no cuts, no incisions, and no surgery. CoolSculpting is a non-invasive, nonsurgical technique. Non-invasive treatments typically have little-to-no recovery period and few side-effects.
CoolSculpting uses high-frequency sound waves for local cooling therapy. Cooling therapy freezes the treatment area and creates a "micromassage" effect on the fat cells, disrupting the cell membrane. Eventually, the frozen fat cells die on their own, and are flushed out of the body naturally.
CoolSculpting is typically performed in an office setting by a physician like Dr. Burke or any of our other trained practitioners here at Maine Laser Skin Care and MediSpa. CoolSculpting does not require anesthesia of any kind.
Not immediately. First the fat cells have to be frozen, then consequently die. After the fat cells die, the body has to flush those dead fat cells out completely. Such a process takes time.
Fortunately, you may start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after your treatment, and will experience the most dramatic results after two months. But your body will still flush out fat cells and continues doing so for up to four to six months after treatment.
No. Following the procedure, you can resume normal activity without pain or downtime. While you are undergoing a CoolSculpting procedure, you may experience deep pulling, tugging, pinching, numbness or discomfort in the targeted area.
Right after the procedure, typical side effects include temporary numbness, redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging and pain. Rare side effects may also occur.
Although CoolSculpting is recommended for a wide range of patients, the procedure is not for everyone. You should be in good general health and realistic about the kinds of results you expect from the treatment.
You should also not have the CoolSculpting procedure if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria. It is also important to note that CoolSculpting is not, nor has it ever intended to be, a treatment for obesity.
